 Develops, maintains and gathers necessary data to ensure accurate student assignment.  Helps maintain multiple databases of ArcGIS, Chancery, VersaTrans, and Zone Finder to ensure integrity for student assignment, student projections, and various studies.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES:
 
1.         Maintains up-to-date street listings of Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County.
              a.  Maintains Infinite Campus address files.
              b.  Maintains Zone Finder address database.
              c.  Works closely with Public Works Department to ensure all street databases are
                   up-to-date.
 
2.         Checks addresses as needed to determine correct student addresses for assignment purpose.
 
3.         Maintains the Zone Finder application and database.
              a.  Updates all address listings.
              b.  Updates the geo-code mapping table.
              c.  Maintains the geographic priority zones and school options table.
 
4.         Develops attendance zone maps for individual schools.
 
5.         Maintains a correct listing of streets and addresses by school attendance
            zone.
 
6.         Develops and maintains school attendance boundaries utilizing ArcGIS software and
            VersaTrans software.        
 
7.        Develops and maintains Student Assignment maps and generate various custom maps for other MNPS departments by using   .           ArcGIS software 
8.         Assists in preparing and maintaining working zone maps used in the rezoning process.
 
9.         Develops and maintains ArcGIS Online account for MNPS to be used by internal staff and the public.
 
10.        Assists with generating annual and semi-annual student enrollment projections.
 
11.        Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Enrollment Forecasting and Boundary Planning.     

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent, a college degree is desirable; preference will be given to candidates with a background in Geographic Information Systems.
 
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
 
Requires none.
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
 
One to three years experience in the following areas is desirable:
 
1.         Geographic Information Systems.
2.         Editing/Maintaining a street database.
3.         Developing geographic boundaries.
4.         Experience using ArcGIS Online.
5.         Demonstrated Knowledge of Cartographic Principles

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 
Requires sedentary work involving standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 25 pounds of force on a regular basis, and some dexterity in operating machines, tools, or office equipment.
 
UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS:
 
The position is exposed to no unusual environmental hazards.
 
SENSORY (ADA) REQUIREMENTS:
 
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and speaking.
