Education Committee member, Kurt Butefish, was approached by an organization called the Technology Student Association.  They are in need of judges for a Geospatial Technology Event for a national competition that will be held in Nashville in late June.  Please see the following request.  Since one of TNGIC’s goals for this year is to provide outreach to the larger community, this is a good opportunity to work with some budding GIS students.  Please email Kurt at if you are interested.  He can send to you more information about the contest, including the rules, and who to contact to volunteer.
The Technology Student Association is holding its national conference in Nashville at the Gaylord June 28-July 2. We are in need of judges for the middle school Geospatial Technology event. Anything you can do to spread the word would be appreciated.
We will judge team notebooks on Wednesday, June 29 from 8:30 -12:00 in the Lincoln E room. There will be a judge check-in place also.
Attached are the rules and the design brief the notebooks are based on. Students will use the data from these notebooks to do the on-site event.
The semi-finalist event is on Thursday, June 30 from 1:30 to 6:00. It is not critical for judges to arrive by 1:30, as students will just being started at that time.
