Job Description: This position supports the Northeast Tennessee Regional Economic Partnership (NeTREP) and Washington County Economic Development Council’s (WCEDC) mission of enhancing job growth and increasing the tax base by analyzing statistical information and managing and tracking research projects that the organization undertakes. This role involves conducting industry research, providing technical assistance, collecting data, providing analysis and forecasts, and conveying data onto maps using GIS. This research will ultimately be used to enhance the NeTREP’s efforts in recruitment and expansion of businesses in the Johnson City MSA.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Collects, manages, analyzes and reports data in support of and economic development initiatives.
  • Conducts business and real estate research.
  • Create & manipulate maps using GIS applications.
  • Maintains & updates real estate data bases.
  • Assists with RFI requests from consultants, brokers, TN Department of Economic & Community Development and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
  • Provide data and support for marketing initiatives.
  • Undertake independent research projects to inform stakeholders and highlight key trends impacting the Johnson City MSA, the Tri Cities Region, and the State of Tennessee.
  • Develop a positive working relationship with local government and regional partners;
  • Participates in a wide variety of special projects.
  • Conduct any additional duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of automated mapping and spatial information processing methods and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of the capabilities of automated mapping and geographic information processing systems.
  • ​Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
