Location: Roane State Community College - Oak Ridge Campus: 701 BriarCliff Ave. Oak Ridge, TN 37830 Coffey Building Room H-200 (second floor)
Parking: Visitors Lot A – alternate parking in Student Lot C
Course Description: 2-Day Hands on Lidar Training Class hosted by TNGIC. Overview of using Lidar in ArcGIS & GeoCUE LP360 software packages from toolbar and navigational aids introduction, to point clouds and point classification, DEM modeling and contours, as well as an overview of how to create a Web App and Map Services to view and display your Lidar data.
Instructors: Taught by staff from the State of Tennessee, GeoCue and Woolpert.
Curriculum: Training Manual using demonstrations and exercises.
Pre requisite: Good understanding of ArcGIS and how to use and manipulate geospatial data.
We are excited to announce a TNGIC sponsored LiDAR training! In collaboration with STS' Office of GIS, Woolpert, GeoCue, and Roane State, we will walk you through the LiDAR collections and how to get started using it!
This is a 2-Day Hands on Lidar Training Class hosted by TNGIC. STS-GIS Services: Introduction to Lidar Data Utilizing ESRI ArcMap (Day 1)
Woolpert: Creating a Web App for your Elevation Data (Day 1)
GeoCue: Introduction to Lidar Analysis in LP 360 (Day 2)

GeoCue: Introduction to Lidar Analysis in LP 360 (Day 2)
- Overview of LP360 Software working with .las files
- Basics, classification and height segmentation with LP360’s Point Cloud Tasks (PCTs)
- Case Study: Stream/Road Cross-Section
- Case Study: Identifying Building Heights
- Additional Hands-On Exercises
