Position Summary

The GeoDesign Associate manages and maintains conservation databases and provides geospatial analytical support in GIS or other relational database technologies to Conservancy staff. This position is currently funded for one year.

Essential Functions

The GeoDesign Associate processes spatial and/or relational data sets derived from cartographic and tabular source material. S/he performs data analysis and provides hardware and software support. S/he builds, maintains, and populates GIS databases, produces maps and/or other graphic products and reports, and develops and maintains GIS library and/or database products library.

This May Include One Or More Of The Following Functions

The GeoDesign Associate develops, analyzes and manages data sources in a variety of forms.
Digitize data, as needed.Produce maps and charts to support conservation projects.Perform spatial analysis to support conservation projects.Publish data to the web and create web maps and web applications.Assist team with project management, as needed.Develop GIS databases.Curate GIS data and Esri mxd documents, as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS or Associates degree in related field and 2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience managing, maintaining and populating GIS databases.Proficient with the Esri geospatial software suite.Experience producing maps and/or other graphic products.Familiarity with mobile data collection platforms.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers; Python, R or SQLskills are a plus.
