​Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to join our dynamic team in Knoxville, TN. Ideal candidates will have a BS degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or equivalent, and 5+ years’ experience. Programming and relational database experience is also a plus. The successful applicant must be enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits / finding new solutions for our engineering (technology) related projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities
Create high quality maps, GIS analysis, and data for reports to support a variety of engineering projectsPerform both geographic and non-geographic data manipulation, management and analysis, cartography, and develop / use automated GIS processes using a variety of software (ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop v10x ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Online, Collector for ArcGIS)Assist with data management and maintenance in accordance with various local and federal data standards (SDSFIE)Provide support in deploying GPS devices for field programs and downloading data from GPS to GISRevise existing GIS layers and create new layers following established standards and proceduresCorrect geospatial location of features based on aerial photography or topographyAble to search for spatial and GIS related data online and incorporate into ArcGIS software for business useProvide time estimates for project proposals and RFPs (Request For Proposals)Work on multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to keeping projects on schedule and within budgetBe a contributing member during decision making process for numerous situationsWork in a production-oriented fast paced environment and be team orientedProactively provide your own ideas and solutions to solve business problems large and smallMaintain metadata and best practices to support systems and data
Skills / Qualifications
Must have a BS degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or equivalent5+ years of experience or any equivalent education and experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office softwareDatabase development and management proficiencyMust possess good organizational, and oral and written communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExcellent analytical / problem-solving skillsAttention to details and experience with QA / QC and data analysisPresentation skills, including the ability to clearly communicate GIS technologiesMust pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Familiarity with programming languages (Python / Visual Basic / C++) is a plusGISP Certification is a plusExperience with GPS Pathfinder Office software and GPS peripheralsExperience with Relational Database Management Systems (Microsoft Access, SQL Server, etc.)Experience with development of applications for data collection using laptops, smartphones and tablets is a plusExperience of processing LiDAR is a plusExperience with CAD platforms and data exchange between CAD / GIS environments is a plusPhotogrammetry experience is a plusExperience working with aerial drones is a plus
